Extraordinary clothing. Made for you. Since 1990.
RIMO Fashion creates individually configurable vinyl, latex, PVC and rainwear that is not anonymously picked from a warehouse shelf. Many of our garments are only made after you place your order in our workshop in Solingen – in your chosen size, colour, material and length.
More than three decades of experience
RIMO Mantelmode became RIMO Fashion: a second-generation family business with many years of experience in demanding specialist materials.
In-house production, not anonymous mass production
Our garments are prepared and sewn in Germany. This keeps the pattern, workmanship and individual arrangements in our own hands.
People you can actually reach
Real people stand behind our webshop. We are happy to discuss materials, sizing, length and custom requests with you before you order.
You are not ordering an ordinary off-the-shelf product
A long vinyl coat, a generously flowing cape or a latex jacket is not an everyday purchase. The character of the material, fit, weight, colour and details all determine whether the finished garment truly suits you.
We therefore do not see our webshop as a simple mail-order catalogue. It is the beginning of a production order. You select the available options; we check, plan, cut and make the garment in our own workshop.
Why does production begin after payment has been received?
Caution is understandable when placing a high-value order paid in advance. Trust should not be based on sweeping promises, but on a traceable process, clear company details and people who can be contacted directly.
Your order is clearly assigned
You receive an order confirmation containing your order details. Your order number accompanies the process from payment through to dispatch.
Materials and production time are scheduled
Once payment has been received, we can prepare the order on a binding basis, allocate the required material and reserve its place in our production schedule.
Individual production begins
Depending on the design, the next stages include material inspection, cutting, sewing, finishing details, final quality control and dispatch. This takes time and is very different from shipping an item that is already sitting on a warehouse shelf.
You are welcome to speak to us personally before ordering, verify our full company details and check our current production status and material availability at any time.
Planning, pattern archive and production in our own workshop
Individually made clothing does not come into being with a single click. Before a design is cut and sewn, its pattern, material and construction are checked and coordinated. The following images are based on real photographs taken in our workshop in Solingen.
From RIMO Mantelmode to RIMO Fashion
RIMO was founded in 1990 by Monika and Jürgen Ritter. What began as a small family business specialising in distinctive rainwear grew through different shops, trade fairs, webshops and workshops into the company it is today. Tobias Ritter has continued the business as its second-generation owner since 2018.
RIMO's first shop in Solingen
Five years after the company was founded, RIMO Mantelmode opened its first shop on Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse. Advice, sales and the presentation of its unusual designs came together at a permanent location for the first time.
First major trade-fair stand in Berlin
At Venus Berlin, RIMO presented colourful vinyl and rainwear at a major event for the first time. The dedicated stand with its illuminated RIMO sign introduced the then small niche to a much wider audience.
Second shop in Wuppertal
A larger location opened on Nützenberger Strasse, with striking shop windows and a considerably expanded selection of vinyl, latex and distinctive rainwear.
“Unique & Shrill” in Düsseldorf
The third shop was located at Am Alten Hafen, directly between the Old Town and the Rhine. Its independent retail concept combined RIMO designs with a deliberately unconventional and colourful presentation.
A new generation, RIMO Fashion and our largest premises to date
Tobias Ritter took over the company as its second-generation owner. RIMO Mantelmode became RIMO Fashion, the webshop was rebuilt and premises of around 240 m² opened on Tannenbergstrasse, including two workshops, a showroom, an office and additional facilities.
Trade-fair stand and fashion show at Honeyland
At the Kinky Fetish Fashion Show & Play Market in Essen, RIMO presented selected designs on the catwalk and at its own stand. Singer-songwriter Matthew Wood accompanied the show as its live act.
Special production for a ProSieben campaign
For ProSieben's “Der neue Montag” campaign, RIMO was commissioned by stylist Veit Alex to create balloon-style vinyl letters for Chris Tall and Sebastian Pufpaff. They had to look like real balloons while remaining stable, durable and reusable. Watch a campaign clip
Back in Solingen and still on the catwalk
The workshop, production and showroom returned to Solingen. In February, the Solinger Tageblatt reported on the family business and customers who travel internationally to visit it. In October, RIMO presented current PVC and vinyl fashion at Avantgardista in Munich.

Visible online for many years
RIMO began presenting its unusual rainwear, vinyl and latex fashion online at an early stage. The design, technology and product range have changed several times since then, but personal production and a passion for specialist materials have remained.

Small enough for personal responsibility
At RIMO, the webshop, customer service and production are not anonymous, separate departments. Decisions about custom requests, feasibility and materials are coordinated directly within the company.

Our seamstress team
Patterns, specialist materials and many individual details are brought together in our workshop to create the finished garments. Particularly elaborate designs require many hours of focused craftsmanship.
What you can expect from RIMO
Clear information before you order
Colour charts, material guides, measurement information, FAQs and our production status are designed to help you make a well-informed decision.
An honest assessment of what is feasible
Not every request can be sensibly realised in every material. In such cases, we recommend a suitable alternative rather than promise something unsuitable.
Individual production with personal responsibility
Standard size, special length or made-to-measure: we treat your order as a specific individual project, not as an anonymous number in a mass-distribution system.
Available to you after ordering as well
You can contact us using the details provided if you have questions about your order. We also publish general updates on our production-status page.
Common questions before placing a high-value order
With individually made vinyl and latex clothing, it is sensible to clarify any open questions before purchasing.
Why does RIMO use payment in advance?
Many items are only made after an order is placed. Receipt of payment makes the order binding and enables specific material and production planning.
How can I verify who runs the webshop?
Our legal notice identifies the owner and provides the full business address and further company information. You can also reach us by telephone and email.
Can I ask for advice before ordering?
Yes. If you are unsure about size, material, colour, length or a custom request, we recommend contacting us before placing your order.
How can I find the current production time?
Our current general estimate is available on the Production Status & Material Availability page.
Is every garment made to measure?
Not automatically. Depending on the product, you select either a standard size or an available made-to-measure option. Many additional features, including material, colour, length and lining, can be configured individually.
Where can I find more answers about the ordering process?
Our main FAQ page covers ordering, sizing, materials, custom requests, production and shipping.
Are you considering a high-value or particularly individual order?
Send us a message or call us before ordering. Materials, sizing, length and special requests can usually be assessed quickly together. This gives you a clearer understanding of what is feasible and how your order will proceed before you make payment.
