Frequently Asked Questions about made-to-order garments, sizing & materials
Here you will find the most important information about our made-to-order raincoats, glossy vinyl coats, capes, latex garments and custom options. RIMO Fashion produces individually made garments in Germany, with many details available to configure or adjust.
Orders & production
Are the garments made only after I place an order?
Yes. Most RIMO Fashion garments are made to order. After your order has been placed, we plan the selected style, size, material, colour and options before the garment is produced in our atelier.
How long does delivery take?
Production usually takes several weeks, as each piece is made individually. You can find our current estimate on the “Production status & material availability” page. If the chosen material is not in stock, the material lead time must be added before production can begin.
When does production of my order begin?
Production can begin once the order, payment, size, material, colour and all required details have been confirmed and the material is available. For custom requests or made-to-measure orders, we may need to clarify details before production starts.
Can I ask about the status of my order?
Yes. When contacting us, please include your order number and the name used for the order. This helps us find your order faster and provide a more precise update.
Sizing, made-to-measure & custom adjustments
Can I order a garment made to my measurements?
Yes, many styles can be made to measure. We will need the relevant body measurements and, depending on the design, additional details such as desired length, sleeve width or hem width.
Can I change the length, hood, lining or other details?
Many adjustments are possible, such as different lengths, colour combinations, lining options or specific detail changes. Whether an adjustment is possible and whether it requires a surcharge depends on the style and the amount of work involved.
What should I do if I am between two sizes?
If you are unsure, please send us your measurements and the style you are interested in before ordering. We can then advise whether a standard size or a custom adjustment would be the better choice.
Materials: glossy vinyl, latex & soft PVC
What is the difference between glossy vinyl and latex?
Glossy vinyl is a coated textile material with a shiny surface. Latex is an elastic natural material with a very different feel and a more body-hugging fit. Both materials can look glossy, but they wear, stretch and behave differently.
Are the garments waterproof?
Our rainwear made from glossy vinyl or soft PVC is designed for rainy weather and protection from wet conditions. As the garments are sewn rather than fully welded technical protective clothing, seams and construction details may behave differently from industrial rain gear.
Which colours are available?
Available colours depend on the material and current supplier stock. If a colour is not shown or you would like a special colour combination, please contact us before ordering.
Can colour or shine vary from the photos?
Yes. Colours and shine can vary slightly depending on your screen, lighting, material batch and the surface itself. Product photos are intended to show the character of the material as realistically as possible, but they cannot fully replace seeing a material sample.
Care & handling
How do I clean glossy vinyl or soft PVC?
Wipe the surface gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Please do not use aggressive cleaners, solvents or abrasive sponges.
How should I care for latex garments?
Latex should be cleaned carefully, dried completely and protected from direct sunlight, heat, grease, oil and sharp objects. Special latex care products can be used for shine and maintenance.
How should I store the garment?
Store the garment clean, dry and protected from light. Avoid leaving it heavily folded for long periods. Light and dark materials should preferably be stored separately to reduce the risk of colour transfer.
Returns, cancellations & custom-made items
Can I return a custom-made garment?
For goods that are not prefabricated and are made according to an individual choice or specification, the statutory right of withdrawal may be excluded. Please refer to our cancellation policy and terms and conditions for the legally binding information.
What happens if there is a fault or defect?
If you notice a possible fault, please contact us promptly with your order number and photos. We will review the case and get back to you with a suitable solution.
Can I change my order after placing it?
Changes are only possible as long as the material has not yet been cut and production has not started. Please contact us as early as possible if you need to change an order detail.
Shipping, payment & contact
When will my order be shipped?
Your order will be shipped after production and final quality control. Once the shipment has been prepared, you will receive the relevant shipping information depending on the shipping method.
Can I ask a question before ordering?
Yes, absolutely. Especially for made-to-measure garments, custom details or material questions, it is often best to contact us before placing your order.
Where can I find current production and material lead times?
You can find the current overview on our “Production status & material availability” page. It shows open orders, current production time and supplier lead times for important materials.
