Did you know that the now obsolete term "governess" derives from the latin word "gubernare"? Translated, that means something like "leading" or "guiding". In fact, the wearer of our blouse "Mona", which is inspired by the classic governess-clothing, can make an excellent and dominant leader, as this unique piece of clothing looks quite strict and dominant on the inclined spectator. This effect is achieved by a seven-centimeter high stand-up collar and the triple-buttoned cuffs on the sleeves.
Governess Style Blouse
Our model "Mona" is based on the antiquated cuts of classic governess blouses - those clichéd garments worn by governesses and tutors of children from the nobility during the second half of the 18th century. However, depending on your color choice, this blouse is highly versatile.
The elaborate puffed sleeves are adorned with three narrow decorative stripes. Finally, the sleeves culminate in wide, triple-buttoned cuffs. The collar interior, standing at 7 cm in height, as well as the cuff interiors and the decorative stripes on the sleeves, are always crafted in a contrasting color. Simply choose your favorite color from our glossy color palette and complement it with a contrasting color made of 342g/m² glossy material, according to your preference.
By default, we provide Mona as a buttoned version with snap buttons on the front, or alternatively, upon request, with a continuous rear zipper. You can find matching waist corsets in our corset section.
Sizes: To determine sizes, please refer to the measuring table. Extra sizes not listed and made-to-measure options are available for an additional charge. Please select the corresponding option field and provide detailed dimensions.
Material & Color: Vinyl fabric 342g/m² (100% Polyurethane), 300g/m² (77% Polyester, 23% Polychloride) or 200g/m² (80% Polyethurane, 20% Polyester) according to our color range. No lining. Other materials and lining options on request.
